Canopy and service body fitouts, mine spec electrical, Starlink and UHF, touring power from 12V to 48V, caravan wiring and on site weighing. Across Cairns and the Northern Beaches, at your yard, your site or your camp.
A qualified Auto Electrician on every job, not an apprentice sent out alone.
No workshop queue and no towing. The whole fitout kit travels in the van.
Only recognised quality parts from reputable OEMs and suppliers.
Locally owned with roots in Far North Queensland and a long term commitment.
The flagship build
A canopy is a small power station, a kitchen, a comms room and a workshop on the back of a ute. Built piece by piece it fights itself. Designed as one system, every circuit is sized against every other, and the whole thing can be serviced, expanded and handed to the next owner with the drawings.
What you run, how long you stay out, what the site demands. The load list decides the bank, the charging and the cable before anything is bought.
Battery bank, DC to DC and solar charging, distribution and fusing, from a clean 12V tourer through to 48V builds that run air conditioning and induction cooking.
Fridge, compressor and lighting circuits, switch panels, monitoring, Starlink and UHF, routed and secured to survive corrugations, heat and the wet, coordinated with your canopy and drawer supplier.
Labelled circuits, a wiring schedule, and a walkthrough of the system. What tradesmanship looks like when the doors are open.
What else we build
Around the flagship canopy build sits everything else a specialist vehicle needs, engineered to the same standard: terminated properly, fused properly, labelled, documented and tidy.
Electrical scope fitted to your site or company spec sheet, with the paperwork to match.
Connected in places the phone network gives up, mounted and powered to survive the drive in.
Radios that actually transmit, because the aerial went where it works rather than where it was easy.
Dual battery through to 48V builds that run air conditioning and cooking. Sized to what you run, not to what fits the bracket.
Van, camper and trailer wiring done to standard, including charging from the tow vehicle.
On site weighing so you know your real numbers before you get pulled up or make a claim.
Caravan weigh in
Most vans on the road are heavier than their owner thinks. Once you are over ATM you are unroadworthy, your insurance can be declined, and the tow vehicle is doing work it was never rated for. We weigh your van on site, loaded the way you actually travel.
These are typical allowances, not your van. Tow ball mass, uneven side to side loading and axle limits do not show up in arithmetic. Weighing is the only way to know, and it is the reason this service exists.
How it works
Ring, or tap through the job picker and power planner below and send the message they write for you. Either way we arrive knowing the scope.
Fully equipped mobile service to your yard, your site or your camp. Measure, plan and quote before anything is bought or drilled.
Work finished to a standard you could open up and show anyone. You get told what was done and why, in plain terms.
Start here
Tap the job. You get a straight answer on what it involves, and it goes into your enquiry so you do not have to explain it twice.
Not sure which it is? Ring, talking a build through is faster than typing it.
System planner
Pick your system voltage, then tap what you want to run. The diagram redraws as a real circuit, and the numbers show you why voltage matters. Higher voltage means the same appliance draws less current, which is what makes the big loads possible.
Figures here are indicative only, to help you picture the job. Actual cable size, fuse rating, converter and charger capacity are set on site against your alternator, battery chemistry and cable run.
Why SAS
Cairns and the Northern Beaches are short on specialist auto electrical capability. SAS was set up to close that gap properly rather than cheaply.
A canopy build, a mine spec package or a Starlink install done as a system is a different job from bolting parts on one at a time. It is the difference between a vehicle that works for years and one that rattles apart.
Led by a qualified Auto Electrician with experience gained overseas and locally, across heavy equipment and modern passenger vehicles.
Correct terminations, correct fusing, correct cable size, sealed and labelled. The work is done once and it stays done.
Mobile service means your vehicle is never off the road waiting in a queue, and businesses are not down a unit for a week.
Only recognised quality parts from reputable OEMs and suppliers. We keep a record of every part we supply and follow up the manufacturer warranty on it for you.
Heat, humidity, salt air, corrugations and wet season water all attack vehicle wiring. Everything is specified and sealed with Far North Queensland in mind.
An Indigenous owned business with community connection and a long term commitment to the region, not a fly in operation.
On the horizon
Drone sales, independent repairs and vehicle integration are being set up now. The same hands that wire your canopy will service the aircraft it carries, and the canopy itself becomes the charging dock. Register your interest and you will be first to know when it opens, and first in the queue.
Aircraft matched to the job, whether that is site inspection, mapping, station work or travel, supplied with honest advice about what you actually need.
Crash damage, motors, wiring, connectors and batteries, the electronics side of the trade applied to aircraft. Independent service, not affiliated with any manufacturer.
Charging built into the canopy fitout, secure stowage power, and field charging off the house bank, so the drone is ready wherever the vehicle is.
Flying commercially has its own CASA accreditation and licensing requirements, which sit with the operator. We look after the machines and the power that keeps them in the air.
Credentials and compliance
The paperwork behind the work. Everything here is current and available on request for business, fleet and government clients.
Registered Australian business, quoting and invoicing under ABN.
Mobile attendance across Cairns and the Northern Beaches.
Only recognised quality parts from reputable OEMs and suppliers, with manufacturer warranties recorded and followed up.
Locally owned and operated, with long term commitment to the region.
Attendance at your site, yard or camp. No workshop queue, no towing.
Business documentation and referee details available for procurement.
Downtime costs more than the repair. SAS attends on site so utes, trailers, plant and towed equipment keep working. Indigenous owned, licensed and insured, with a capability statement available for procurement.
Who we build for
Utes and light vehicles fitted to your site spec sheet: isolators, beacons, alarms, cameras and UHF, with wiring documented so inductions and audits are painless.
Canopy power, fridge, lighting, comms and Starlink engineered as one system rather than bolted on piece by piece, built for corrugations and the wet.
Charging that actually charges, road lights that pass, Starlink on the roof, and a weigh in so you know your numbers before the highway does.
Downtime costs more than the fitout. Mobile attendance keeps utes, trailers and plant working, with consistent builds across the fleet.
Where we go
Tap your suburb, or type your postcode. Everything inside the shaded zone is a 24 hour call out from our Palm Cove and Kewarra Beach base. Outside it we still come, it just gets booked in.
The whole run, Mossman to Gordonvale
Positions are true to the coast. Shaded zone is 10 km straight line from base, so drive time up the range is longer than it looks. Tap any dot for detail.
